SSSCR Berkeley hosts an annual stem cell conference, ‘Culturing a stem cell community’, that brings together incredible researchers, patient advocates, and students in the Bay Area stem cell community. With the generous support of CIRM and the Berkeley Stem Cell Center, our previous conferences have been immensely successful, providing a platform for leading scientists, passionate advocates, and industry representatives to share their work and the exciting possibilities for the future of stem cell therapies. Past conferences have featured speakers throughout the stem cell field, including Dr. Irving Weissman, Dr. Arnold Kriegstein, Dr. David Schaffer, and Dr. Bruce Conklin. Through the conference and collaborations, we have been able to demonstrate our commitment to the growth and success of stem cell research.
At the end of the conference, we have a poster session for students in the field to present their work; undergraduate and graduate students from the CIRM Bridges program, UC Berkeley, Stanford, and other local universities have participated successfully in the past.
If you are a student and would like to present your stem cell research at the poster session, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each year, the conference is planned around a pertinent theme in the field of stem cell research. This year’s conference aims to highlight the vast potential of stem cells in cancer research, and will take place on Saturday October 6, 2018 from 9-5 pm at the Li Ka Shing Center at UC Berkeley.
Check back in September for more info about the speakers and schedule!
